Men Should Always Pray!

Luke 18:1  And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

It is mighty difficult for the devil to defeat a praying man or a praying church.  Anytime we experience or witness great victories, whether personally or corporately, we know that they did not come from our words or our works.  They came because of prayer!  When we rely on organization we only get what organization can do.  When we rely upon education we only get what education can do.  When we rely upon eloquence we only get what eloquence can do.  But when we rely upon prayer we always get what God can do.

In Jeremiah 33:3  God said,  "Call upon me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things you know not."

The highest privilege afforded to man is the privilege of prayer.  The right to talk to the highest potentate in all the universe.  Then why don't we pray?  The most powerful force accessible to man is the potential of prayer.  Then why don't we pray?  The sweetest moments a man can spend with his family and friends are in prayer.  Why then don't we pray?  The greatest longing of the heart of God is to fellowship with His children.  Then why don't we pray?  Nothing is impossible to those who pray in faith believing.  Then why don't we pray?  No man has ever fainted or faltered who gave himself to prayer.  Then why don't we pray?  Every sin stain is washed clean, every sin is forgiven, and all guilt diminished for those who call on Jesus name.  Why then don't we pray?  Hell moves further away, Satan trembles at the man who prays.  Then why O' why don't we pray?  Heaven comes closer, the glory grows brighter, the hope grows more real for the one who prays.  Why don't we pray?  Answers will come, mountains will be moved, valleys made smoother, rivers made crossable, the inaccessible made accessible, the impossible made possible, and dreams come true for the person who prays.  Why then don't we pray?  Jesus said men ought to pray.  The Apostle Paul said we should pray without ceasing.  So why don't we pray?  The riches of heaven are opened to those who pray in Jesus name. So why don't we pray?  Everyone can pray.  The rich, the poor, the young, the old, the strong, the weak, the free man, or the prisoner in any nation of any language. . . all can pray.  Why then don't men pray?
